Dragon’s Fury (60 km) is the shorter version of Bhutan’s Tour of the Dragon ultra marathon mountain bike race (268 km), one of the toughest one-day mountain bike races in the world. The Dragon’s Fury is organized by Bhutan Olympic Committee, was founded by His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck and was inaugurated in 2015 to celebrate the 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the 4th King of Bhutan. The race starts at Messina (1410 m / 4265 ft), takes you through stunning rural countryside, passes one of Bhutan’s highest motor passes (3150 m / 10,330 ft) and ends in the capital city, Thimphu (2330 m / 7640 ft). Mountain bikers from all over the world join locals to ride this mysterious and untamed Dragon for the experience of a lifetime. The distance may be shorter compared to the Tour of the Dragon, but the fury of the Dragon remains the same.
