Paro Dumchoe
རི་བོ་ཇིཀྲུ་ཌེཀThe Paro Domchoe is an annual festival dedicated to Yeshey Goenpo, the protecting deity of Bhutan. The Gonpoi Drupchen as it is also known, was introduced by the 68th Je Khenpo, His Holiness Tenzin Dendup in 1987 for the well being of the nation and its citizens. This festival which displays the colorful culture of Bhutan through sacred mask dances performed by monks in honor of the protective deity, is attended by hundreds of locals and toursists. All the government offices under Paro dzongkhag remains closed on the occasion of Paro Domchoe.
